Malaysian man dies inside Ermita/Malate (Manila) Hotel in the Philippines
A Malaysian national who was suffering from asthma died while inside his hotel room in Ermita, Manila early Friday.
PSupt. Albert Turco Barot, Ermita Police Station Commander identified the fatality as Stephen Yaman, 60, last resided at Barangay E. Rodriguez, Cubao, Quezon City.
Initial investigation revealed that at around 10:00 p.m. of June 16, Yaman called his friend, a certain Jesus N. Monton, 60, asking for assistance because he was experiencing difficulty in breathing.
Monton fetched his friend in front of 7-eleven convenience store along P. Gil Street, Ermita and went straight to Palm Plaza Hotel.
Before they went to their hotel room, Yaman asked his friend to buy a medicine for asthma to relieve his suffering, in which Monton did.
Upon taking the medicine, Yaman felt relieved and eventually went to their hotel room. – Analou de Vera
